what is displacement? pls explain in easy words with example

Displacement is the phenomena by which any object can change it respective position by applying force
For example if we push a table then here we are applying force and table changes it's position form it's initial position that is only termed as displacement

The shortest length between the initial nd final position with respect to direction is called displacement.

It can be positive negative or zero.

Example- Suppose that the person moving from A to B (4km) towards south nd next C to D(3km) towards north then the distance travelled by the person is

AB + BC= 4km+3km= 7km.
