Let's take an example to understand it better :-

HCl +NaNO3---->NaCl+HNO3

This is a displacement reaction.

You might have noticed the reaction was like :-

AB+CD--->AC+BD

Therefore, A Displacement Reaction is a type of chemical reaction in which the reactents interchange their cations with anions(or vice-versa)

Hope you get it,

Best of luck
