• It is a type of chemical reaction where an element reacts with a compound and takes the place of another element in that compound is called single displacement .

a. Zinc being more reactive than Cu, displaces Cu from CuSo4 solution and forms new product , zinc sulphate and Cu metal.

b. Similarly, iron being more reactive than Cu

displaces copper from aqueous solution of copper sulphate .
