Displacement reaction is a type of a reaction process in which the more reactive reactive metal displaces the less reactive metal from its salt.

Let the metals be A and B and let A be more reactive than B.Let the salt of B be BD where D.

Now as A is more reactive than B it will displace B from its salt.

A + BD = AD + B

Explanation:

It is type of chemical rea tion in which a reactive metal displaces a comparatively less reactive metal.

THE reactivity of metals depends on their position in reactivity series.

Example of a displacement reaction:-

CuSO4+Fe---->FeSO4+Cu

I hope this is of some use to you :D
