A more reactive metal displaces a less reactive metal from its salt solution. When a more reactive metal is placed in the salt solution of a less reactive metal,then the more reactive metal displaces the less reactive metal from its salt solution.

Iron displacing copper in Copper Sulphate solution to form Iron Sulphate is one most common examples.
