Explanation:

Displacement Reaction :-

Displacement reaction is an chemical reaction in which a reactant displaces the other reactant/product from the compound.

Or

The reaction in which the atoms or groups of atoms displaces the other atoms from the compound.

Its Generic representation:-

A + BC \implies AC + B

A,B,C are certain elements.

Examples:-

Reaction of iron nails with copper sulphate solution.

 Fe + Cuso_4 \implies Feso_4 + cu

Observation:-

• Fe(iron) displaces copper from its solution and thus, its an displacement reaction

In General :-

• when an iron nail is dipped in a solution of CuSO4 it displaces with the copper from the Solution and this gets precipitated as a red or red-brown residue in the solution.
