A more active metal displaces a less reactive metal from its salt solution are called displacement reaction. Iron can displace copper from its salt solution as iron is situated in the upper position than copper in the reactivity series. So, copper cannot displace iron from its salt solution.

It is a reaction during which a metal reacts with salt solution and \bold{displaces} the metal present in it.

To explain the \bold{displacement} reaction of metals,

A list of \bold{common\: metals} are arranged in decreasing order of their reactivity which is called as \bold{active\:series\:of\: metals.}

Iron can displace copper from its salt solution but copper cannot displace iron from its \bold{salt\: solution.}

This is because iron is placed \bold{higher} in activity series from copper.
