Distance : Length of the actual path irrespective of its direction is called distance. Distance is a scalar quantity. The SI unit for distance is ' meter '. Displacement is some cases can be 0 but distance can not. The device used to measure distance is called " Odometer ".
Displacement : Shortest distance covered by a body where initial and final point are same is called displacement. Distance in particular direction i. e. distance with direction is called displacement. SI unit of displacement is also "meter".
