 Let \: A(-4,0) = (x_{1} , y_{1}) \:and

 B( 6,0) = (x_{2} , y_{2})

 Since, \:the \: y - coordinates \: are \:equal

 to \: zero ,\:points \: lie \: on \: x - axis

 \red{ Distance \: (AB) } = | x_{2} - x_{1} |

 = | 6 - (-4) |

 = | 6 + 4 |

 = | 10 |

 = 10 \: units

Therefore.,

 \red{ Distance \: between \: given \: points}

 \green { =  10 \: units}
