According to the distributive property, multiplying the sum of two or more addends by a number will give the same result as multiplying each addend individually by the number and then adding the products together.

For example, suppose you want to multiply 3 by the sum of 10 + 2. 3(10 + 2) = ? According to this property, you can add the numbers and then multiply by 3.

Distributive property is multiplying the sum of two or more addends by a number will give the same result as multiplying each addend individually by the number and then adding the products together.

a (b + c) = ab + ac

2 ( 3 + 4 ) = 2 × 3 + 2 × 4.

6 + 8 = 6 + 8

14 = 14
