The diurnal range of temperature is the difference in between the maximum and the minimum temperature of the same day. It is referred as high daytime temperature or low nighttime temperature. The diurnal temperature range is high as the distance moves far away from the sea especially in places where the solar radiation is at its highest.

Jaisalmer has more diurnal range of temperature because the sand quickly becomes very hot at daytime and very cold at night.
