Meaning of Diversity and its features

Explanation:

Diversity means differences such as different religious beliefs, different cultural traditions, music, art, dancing etc.   In the context of society and culture, diversity is usually mentioned in discussing multicultural societies. What do people from other cultures contribute when they migrate and become part of a new society.

Diversity is a social experiment. We are all told that as humans, we are a singular specie. Yet around the world we are segregated by so many factors. We are trained to be conceited enough to consider our very faith, race, culture or subculture as the ultimate gospel on morality and life. We look at other cultures and at people we don't understand and for some reason it seems deeply personally insulting that they don't think like we do, or talk like we do or eat the food we do or pray to the same god as us.

e.g. of these characteristics are: age; cognitive style; culture; disability (mental, learning, physical); economic background; education; ethnicity; gender identity; geographic background; language(s) spoken; marital/partnered status; physical appearance; political affiliation; race; religious beliefs; etc
