Divisibility rule for 11:

If in any number the sum of the numbers in the even positions = sum of the odd numbers in the odd positions, then the number is divisible by 11. Alternatively, the difference of the sum of the numbers in even positions and the sum of the numbers in the odd positions = 11.

Example 1: 9317. Here 9+1 = 10 , same as 3+7. Hence 9317 is divisible by 11.

Example 2: 163713. Here 1+3+1 = 5 and 6+7+3 = 16. The difference between the two = 16–5 = 11, so 163713 is divisible by 11.
