Scientifically speaking, one could write aA LOTabout DNA.But anyways, simply put, DNA , ordeoxyribonucleicacid, is the most primary form of genetic material in an organism. It is present in all living organisms (even in viruses). It is passed on from generation to generation and contains the genetic material which determines the characteristics of an organism. In other words, it is our identity. It is why you have your mother’s blue eyes and your father’s brown hair.DNA is a polymer of several nucleotides, two chains of which form a double helix structure, giving DNA its hugely recognisable shape (you know, the fancy coiled up thing). Each nucleotide consists of a sugar (the pentose deoxyribose), a phosphate molecule and one of four bases(Adenine-A , Guanine -G, Cytosine -C and Thymine- T). Adenine always bonds with thymine and cytosine always with guanine. This complementary base pairing makes DNA replication possible and thereby allows for cell division, which in turncan lead to growth and reproduction.Again, like I said, these are merely a few words that summarise DNA as a molecule. Going deeper into it reveals so many amazing secrets of life. Hope it helped.
