During the state of cell division or reproduction, the DNA replicates or copy itself. When the hydrogen bond between the cells is broken (cell division), the DNA forms a two-strand shape. This two-strand shape further gets separated and new DNA strands start forming. DNA copy is extremely vital during cell division as the copy DNA is supposed to get in touch with the daughter cells. If there is no replication or copy then the cells will lack genetic material in them which will not create essential proteins for the body to function in the proper way.

In molecular biology, the biological process of the replication of two molecules of DNA from an original molecule is called DNA copying or DNA replication. This process occurs in all living organisms and is the basis of biological inheritance.
