DNA stands for Deoxyribonucleicacid. The functions of DNA includes  Replication,Gene expression,Mutation,Transcription,Translation..

Explanation:

  • “DNA is made up of biomolecules that is nucleic acids which is  responsible for transmitting the hereditary charcters or traits from one generation to another.”
  • It is found in all prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. It is act as the genomic material or hereditary molecules in cell.
  • There are three different DNA types: 1) A DNA i.e right handed helix 2)B DNA i.e right handed helix 3)Z DNA i.e left handed helix.
  • DNA was first identified by the Swiss biologist J. Friedrich Miescher in 1869 during his research on WBC.
  • Structure of DNA-: The DNA structure is looks like twisted ladder. The DNA molecule is madeup of nucleotides that is a nucleic acids unit, and each nucleotide is made up of 3 components that is sugar molecules, phosphate groups and 4 nitrogen bases.
  • Functions of DNA -:
  1. In humans the DNA type is B DNA. It is a right-handed double-helical structure.
  2. DNA responsibles for many biological functions such as Replication,Gene expression,Mutation,Transcription,Translation..
