According to Dobereiner, all elements occurred in groups of three, when arranged in increasing order of atomic masses. He referred to these groups as triads. In a traid the elements had similar chemical properties. And the atomic mass of the middle element is the average atomic mass of the other two element ( ex. lithium , sodium , and potassium )

It's limitations are ;

He could only discover 3 triads that were :

1.lithium , sodium and potassium

2. Ca , Sr and Ba

3. Cl , Br and I

the doberior traits is when we take three elements and add the atomic mass of first and last element and divide the total by 2 then we get average atomic mass of middle element.

LIMITATIONS:

only three traits are recognized from the element known at that time.
