Hey dear friend ✌✌
Here is your answer-:
Doctrine of Lapse was followed by Lord Dalousie. He annexed many states like that of Satara,Jhansi,Nagpur,Sambalpur and many other small states by Doctrine of Lapse.
According to this Doctrine,if a ruler of a subordinate state died without his own heir, then his state was annexed to the British Empire in India.Due to this, many Indian rulers and princes turned against the English.
Hope this helps you ⏪

Lord Dalhousie the governor general of India followed the policy for annexation of the Indian territories on one pretext or the other and was responsible for the revolt of 1857
Doctrine of lapse of Lord Dalhousie brought many territories under the British control in the absence of natural born heirs .
Actually it was a theory of pending in that the British took over the control over territories of India who do not have the natural born heirs and kings were not allowed to adopt any son
