DOMESTIC ELECTRIC CIRCUITS. In our homeselectricity is brought from electric power station by two insulated wires of aluminium or copper. Out of these two wires, one wire is in red insulation and is called live wire and the other wire is in black insulation and is called neutral wire.

Domestic Electric Circuits. In our homes, we receive supply of electric power through a main supply (also called mains), either supported through overhead electric poles or by underground cables. One of the wires in this supply, usually with red insulation cover, is called live wire (or positive).
