What is done scienttifically in tyres and surfaces of the roads to increase friction

By increasing the size of the Tyre the velocity increases truck and bus tyres are large so there is large velocity

Today's tyres are constructed alongwith designs on them, to create so called "hills and valleys" between the road and the tyre as you can see in the picture. They also feature tyre hairs ( small strings popped out of tyre ).

These are two ways to increase friction in tyres.
