* In the light it depends on the distance between the source and the observer.

* While in sound it depends on distance between the observer and the source.

In order to apply Doppler effect first we need two assumptions those assumptions are as follows:-

(i) The observer's velocity and source velocity must be less than to the velocity of the Sound.

(ii) The velocity of source observer and also the medium should be along the joining position of the source and the observer.
