ANSWER:

The left and right atria receive oxygenated and deoxygenated blood, respectively which is passed onto the ventricles of the same sides. Here, there is no mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood. Thus, the ventricles pump it out without mixing, i.e., two separate circulatory pathway is called double circulation.
