Explanation:

Double circulation is a process in which the blood flows through the chambers of the heart twice.

Process of double circulation :

Firstly the blood flows through the right auricle of the heart from the superior and inferior vena cava and then flows to the right ventricle. Then throgh the pulmonary artery the deoxygenated

blood goes to the lungs for oxygenation.

Secondly, the oxygenated blood from the lungs move to the left auricle through the pulmonary veins and then to left ventricle.

In this way the blood flows into the heart twice hence called double circulation.

It is necessary to maintain the energy demand and the temperature of the body so the requirement of separation of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood is essential.

Hence the double circulation is very important for a living organism generally four chambered mammals
