The double circulatory system of blood flow basically refers to the separate systems of pulmonary circulation and systematic circulation in birds, mammals (including humans) and amphibians. But fishes have a single circulatory system because they do not have lungs. In general, all animals with lungs have a double circulatory system.
In the double circulatory system of blood in humans, the heart consists of two separate pumps: the right side with the right atrium and ventricle (which pumps deoxygenated blood into the pulmonary circulation) and the left side with the left atrium and ventricle ( which pumps oxygenated blood into the systematic circulation).
