{\mathfrak{\red{\underline{\underline{Double\;Circulation:-}}}}}

★ Four chambered heart in human being contains two auricles (left or right) and two ventricles (left or right). The left part of the heart contains oxygenated blood and right part of the heart contains deoxygeneted blood. Thus blood passes two times in one complete circuit - one with oxygenated blood and another with deoxygeneted blood.

★ This is double circulation. Double circulation system prevents mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood with each other.

★ Human are warm blooded. This warm body temperature helps to carry out body processes more efficiently. Maintaining the constant temperature inside the body requires huge amount of energy. without double circulation system, humans would not be able to receive enough oxygen to produce adequate energy.

Ques: What is double circulation ? Why is it necessary ?

Ans : In birds and mammals,blood travels from the heart twice.This phenomenon is referred as double circulation.

It's is necessary for the blood to travel twice though the heart to prevent the mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood to maintain the body temperature.
