Double Displacement Reaction.-

>> Those reactions in which two or more compounds react by an exchange of Ions to form two new compounds are called double displacement reaction.

A double displacement reaction usually occurs in Sol. and one of the products,being insoluble,precipitates out.

ex.- BaCl2 (aq)+ Na2SO4 (aq) ---> BaSO4(s)+ 2NaCl (aq).
