Answer!    answer!!    answer!!!

Double fertilization is a characteristic feature of flowering plants. In double fertilization, out of the two sperm nuclei, one sperm nucleus fuses with the egg nucleus to form an embryo. This process is called syngamy. The other sperm nucleus fuses with polar nuclei to form endosperm. This process is called triple fusion. Since two kinds of fusion, syngamy and triple fusion take place, the process is known as double fertilisation.

Answer:

Double fertilization is the process where 2 types of fertilization or fusion takes place

Explanation:

The 2 types of fusion are

1) Syngamy : It is the fusion of one of the male gamete with the egg present in the ovule.

This type of fusion leads to the formation of zygote that forms into a new seed

2) Triple fusion or vegetative fertilization : It is the fusion of the second male gamete and the two polar nuclei that are present inside the embryo sac . As 3 things ( 2 polar nuclei and one male gamete) fuse here, this type of fusion is known as triple fusion
