triple fusion is the fusion of 1 male gamete and polar nuclie which fuses to form primary endosperm nucleus ( PEN ).....it is called triple fusion because it is done by 3 nuclei that is one nucleus of male gamete and other 2 nucleus of polar nuclei

actually two male gametes reach the ovule....one fuses with polar nuclie and the other fuses with female gamete to form embroy. this process is known as double fertilization. because two fertilization takes place

hope it helps you

chandnimastwalp24e7e: can u pls tell me about double fertilization separately here
sophia88: two male gametes reach inside the ovule....one fuses with female gamete and other fuses with plar nuclie....so it is called double fertilization

Here \: is \: the \: answer \: of \: your \: question

`\textbf{Double Fertilization and Triple Fusion}`

A flower consists of two parts one is male and other is female part. Male part consists of anther and filament. And the female part consists of stigma, style and ovary; ovary conatins egg.

When pollen grain reach the stigma of a plant by air, water, insects etc. Then it produce some liquid substance which is absorbed by the pollen grain. Then it forms a tube which ultimately reaches the ovule of the ovary. Ovary contains egg.

Now, the two male gamates (pollen grains) travel through that tube and reach in ovary. When one male gamate fuse with egg then zygote. The zygote forms by the process pf fertilization. Now the fertilization takes palace in plants so it is known as syngamy.

The other male gamate fuse with two polar nuclei. Then it is known as TRIPLE FUSION to produce triploid primary endosperm nucleus.

As, the fusion occurs two times. So, it is known as DOUBLE FUSION.

After it the zygote develops into the embryo and the primary endosperm nucleus develops into endosperm which provides nourishment to the developing embryo.

And at the end, ovule develops into seed and ovary into fruit.
