-pollen grains are deposited on stigma of carpel during pollination.
-pollen grain germinates and forms pollen tube.
-pollen tube passes through style and moves towards ovule in the ovary.
-pollen tube releases 2 male gametes in the embryo sac of ovule.
-one male gamet fuses with the egg to form zygote.
-another male gamet fuses with 2 polar nuclei to form endosperm nucleus.
-this mechanism of 2 fusions in the embryo sac of ovule is called double fertilization.
-after fertilization, zygote develops into embryo, ovule develops into seed and ovary develops into fruit...
hope it helpzzz ☺️

When a pollen grain fuse with two polar nuclei. [Polar nuclei are present in the ovule of ovary.] Then triple fission takes place.

And when pollen grain fuse with an egg then formation of Zygote takes place.

Since the fertilization occurs two times, this is known as Double Fertilization in Plants.

Fertilization in Plants is known as the Syngamy.
