Dowry is an amount of money or property which, in some countries, a woman’s family gives to the man she is marrying.


My opinion
Dowry is a great evil of the society.
This system is followed by almost all persons of the country either by poor or by rich. And this evil is increasing day by day because the rich people give dowry to their daughters by naming it as a gift which will help their daughter in future.
Please stop practicing this evil. And this is not only the responsibility of bride's family in fact this is the first responsibility of groom's family to say NO to Dowry. If bride's family saying this is a small gift, then this is your responsibility to strictly say NO.
