Answer-Dowry is the money or gift that parents gift to their daughter at the time of her marriage.

Question-Why is it considered an evil?

Answer-It is considered an evil because it has grown into a social evil as the boy's parents demands a large sum of money from girl's parents.If the demands will incomplete then boy's parents torture the girl and her parents.
