As the name suggests(drip): it is a mordern scientific method of irrigation in which the pipelines are spread under the soil and water drips out of the pipes only at the position of the roots.... this has lately reduced wastage of water in irrigation to a great extent.

However the shortcoming is that it is a costly method to employ for irrigation in short croplands
