Change of wavelength caused by motion of the source.

The Doppler effect (or the Doppler shift) is the change in frequency or wavelength of awave for an observer who is moving relative to the wave source.

there is no droprer effect .do you mean doppler effect. it is the apparent change of frequency of sound due to relative motion of source & observer.
