DEFINATION -solid carbon dioxide is known as dry ice.
HOW IS IT MADE -Solid carbon dioxide is stored under high pressure. solid carbon dioxide gets converted directly to gaseous state on decrese of pressure to 1 atmosphere without coming into liquid state. This is the reason why solid carbon dioxide is known as dry ice.

The carbondioxde gas is pressurised and cooled to form liquid carbondioxde. The liquid carbondioxde is injected into either a block press or pelletizer .
