co2 is compressed by high temperature and pressure that the free spzce molecules(since it is a gas) become compact and turn solid..the solid co2 is called dry ice and is corossive in nature
Dry ice is the solid form of carbon di oxide. It is commonly used as cooling agent as it provides temperature lower than what normal ice gives. Also, it sublimes with rising temperature, i.e. when temperature is increased or pressure is decreased, it directly changes its phase to gas without changing into liquid phase.
So, at 1 atm pressure, it sublimes.

Dry ice is solid CO2
Since it is a compressed solid it should be maintained under pressure. If the pressure is decreased to 1atm, it will convert to gas
