Daurs are floodplains of the area around the Himalayas and in the North-Eastern state of Assam and northern part of West Bengal.

Usually, the altitude of daur varies from one region to another, but the minimum is usually 90 m and highest is 1,750m.

There is a similar region in Nepal and North India which is known as Terai.

Since daurs are floodplains so the process by which it is formed comprises of the materials being gathered on the sides of the rivers after there is a flood, this is also known as silt, these floods occur when the rivers overflow and they leave these particles behind which are known as daurs.

Daurs are also known as floodplains with the height of 90-1750 meters in India they are found around the area of West Bengal. The formation of daur is made up because of the material which is gathered on the sides of the river which is caused because of the flood.

The material which is left behind because of the flood is known as alluvium(silt) this process is known as daur formation.
