A bar magnet, when suspended freely point in north-south direction is due to Earth gaint magnetic field. Electric current circulating from earth core to the space give rise to the earth magnetic field it is supposed to save earth from the Solar wind which might cause the Ozone layer of the earth to strip away. The SI unit of earth magnetic field is given by Tesla.

\underline\bold{Earth Magnetism:-}

According to Earth's Magnetism, the current is generated by the conducting movement of molten substance in the outer core of Earth and that current results in the magnetic field around the earth surface.

The magnetic field of Earth resembles with the magnetic field pattern due to a bar magnet as if it is placed on the axis of Earth.

The point on the earth surface beer from the magnetic field is coming out or entering into the earth are known as magnetic poles.

The southern hemisphere according to to geographical meridian is the Northern hemisphere according to magnetical meridian.

The northern hemisphere according to to geographical meridian is the southern hemisphere according to magnetical meridian.

The line joining the two magnetic poles is known as magnetic axis. As the magnetic poles are not coinciding with the geographical poles, show the magnetic axis is also filled with the geographical axis by an angle 11.3°.
