Earthquake= an earthquake is the shaking of the surface of the earth, resulting from the sudden release of energy in the earth's lithosphere that creates seismic waves.

Tsunami= a tsunami or tidal wave,is a series of waves in a water body caused by the displacement of a large volume of water generally in an ocean or a large lake.

Earthquake is a violent termor in the earth's crust,sending out a series of shock -waves in all directions from its place of origin.
The word tsunami is derived from Japanese word tsu means harbour or port or nami meaning a long wave. One of the major consequence of an earthquake is the occurrence of tsunami.
Tsunami is the ocean wave produced by an event in sea ,like earthquake etc.tsunamis are very long waves travels at very high speed (aprox700km /hr).
