What is effect of cutting a trait of a mice for 100 generation

the cutting of trait wont really effect the progeny even if it is continued for 100  

generation because it is not an inherited trait i.e not passed from one generation to another generation . since it does not affect the gene structure therefore no effect is seen in successive generation.
