a body which has a tendency to stretch on being applied an external force without breaking and then restoring to it's original shape when we remove the applied force.
for eg→ rubber band, tennis ball, even a metal ball is elastic!
if you throw a rubber and a metal ball from same height on same ground, metal ball will bounce back and reach a greater height because it is more elastic than rubber ball!
we can't see a metal ball being stretched because it comes back to it's original configuration very quickly

In physics elastic Is a ability of a body to resist a distorting influence or deforming force and return to its original size when that influence or force is removed. Solid objects will deform when adequate forces are applied on them.
