What is election why do we need election in our india?

Election is the appointment of our representatives. Elections are of many types.

We need elections in India because according to our Constitution our country is a democratic country and democracy means to elect our own representative. There is also a policy in India named Universal Adult Suffrage/Franchise, in which a person who has attained 18 years of age is elegeble to cast his/her vote.
