Election... it means.. to elect a particular leader to rule the country or state.. The elections take place once in 5 years... The people elct their own leader as to their wish... n elections..are held fairly without any confusion in the country... People give their vote to a particular ladder whom they wish to give

Elections are the process by which the population of a particular region choose their leader from a group of candidate choices given to them.
The term 'elect' means to choose or decide.
Elections can be dated back to Greece.But the first proper modern form of election was held in America and Europe. Modern election is what we call Representative form of Government in which the common people vote for their leader.
The term elections applies to all forms of government i.e Democratic, Dictatorship, Communist.etc
