Electoral competition is all about competition among various political parties and several candidates. If there is no competition, elections will become pointless. Electoral competition provides every citizen irrespective of various sections in the society, one vote having equal value to elect their representatives.

In a democratic country like India, elections are based on competition between political parties

These parties nominate candidates who represent the party in elections

These parties understand the interests of the people and try to convince them that their party would fulfill the needs if the people make them win in elections

The people are motivated to elect the correct political party based on their electoral campaigns

If a party is motivated or made to understand that to withstand their power in country and among the people, they will be induced to serve the people interests

People make the ruling party understand that only by satisfying their needs and interests, they avail the chances of winning the next elections.

Else the party will not be able to capture power and win in elections
