Electric charge is the physical property of matter that causes it to experience a force when placed in an electromagnetic field.  positive and negative are the two types of charge.

Electricity is a physical phenomena associated with the flow of electric charge.We cannot see electricity but we can observe its effects. One of its well known effects is the electric current. In 600 BC , a Greek philospher, Thales , noticed it for the first time when he rubbed a piece of amber with a piece of cloth. He found that the amber could pull small bits of paper and thread towards it. He named this property as charge and since amber in Greek is known as elecktron , the charge on the amber came to be known as electric charge .
