Electric motor is a device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.

It is used extensively in almost every electric device like mixers, washing machines, refrigerators, etc.

There are two types of electric motor :

1) AC motor : It works on Alternating current (AC) that keeps changing its direction in equal intervals of time.

2) DC motor : It works on direct current (DC) , the direction of which is always same. Such motors are used in TVs, etc.

The basic part of motor are :

1) Armature coil

2) Strong magnet

3) Commutator /split rings (In DC) /slip rings (in AC )

4) Carbon brushes

5) Battery

Explanation:

Electric motor :-

Electric motor is a device used to convert electric energy to mechanic energy. It works on the principle of force experienced by a current carrying conductor in a magnetic field. The two forces in the opposite sides are equal and opposite.

Electric motor is used in almost every electric device like  refrigerators, washing machines, refrigerators, etc.

Types of Electric motor are :-

1) AC motor - It works on Alternating current (AC) that keeps changing its direction in equal intervals of time.
