What is electric motor and electric generator?
Answers
Answer:
A generator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy, while a motor does the opposite - it converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Both devices work because of electromagnetic induction, which is when a voltage is induced by a changing magnetic field

Electric Motor is a device which converts electrical energy in to mechanical energy.
Principal of electric motor
Electric motor work on the principal that when a current carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field it experiences a force on it.
The force is maximum when it is prependicular to the magnetic field and minimum when it is parallel to magnetic field.
The force experience by current carrying wire in magnetic field is given by Fleming left hand thumb rule.
According to this rule stretch your left hand and stretch your fore ,middle finger and thumb such that they are mutually prependicular to each other then fore finger denotes magnetic field, middle finger denotes electric current and thumb denotes the direction of force.
Electric Generator :-
The device which convert mechanical energy in to electrical energy.
Principal of electric Generator
The electric Generator is based on fact of electromagnetic induction.
When a conductor is rotated in a magnetic field the emf is produces in the conductor.
The phenomenon of producing induced current in a conductor by changing the magnetic flux around the conductor is called Electromagnetic induction.
It is given by Fleming right hand thumb rule.
