➡ An electric motor is a device which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.

It works on the principle that when a rectangular coil is placed in a magnetic field and current is passed through it. It depends upon Fleming Left Hand rule. As the conductors are carrying current inside a magnetic field, they will experience a force which tends to rotate the armature.A force acts on the coil which rotates it continuously which convert the electric energy to mechanical energy .
