The work per unit of charge required to move a charge from infinity to a specified point, measured in joules per coulomb or volts. The static electric field is the negative of the gradient of the ●electric potential.

Whereas ●electric potential differenece is the work done in moving a unit postive charge from one point to another.(its theoritically the difference in the potential energy of two point per unit charge.

Potential difference : It is the work done in carrying a unit positive charge from one point to the other point .
