Let Q be the no. of charges flowing in unit time t. The work done in moving electric charges to potential difference is W. The energy needed to done work is QV.

therefore, P=VintoQ/t

we know that, Q/t =I

now, P=VI

energy = Pintot

therefore, H=VIt

also, V=IR

hence, H=I^2Rt
