what is electric resistance .?is a series electric circuits ammeature showed 10 flow through a conductor. upon doubling the length of conductor the reading of ammeature reduced to half .why

Resistance is the property of any conductor to resist or oppose the flow of current.


On doubling the resistance current will be halved because resistance is inversely proportional to current.Hence, on increase in resistance current will be reduced and vice versa.

Electric current in a conductor is inversely proportional to length of the conductor.
It means as we decrease the length of conductor current increases and as we increase the length of conductor, current decreases in the wire.
